Tips To Stop Wrinkles

As a natural aging process, wrinkles settle on our skin. Usually women give more attention to their unwelcomed lines than men. Listed below are a few simple things you can do in your daily life that can help to prevent early wrinkling or improve the appearance of wrinkles:
1) Drink Plenty of Water:
One of the best ways to soften wrinkles is to drink as much water as you can everyday. It is the least costly yet most effective method. With plenty of water, the fatty and oily stuffs entrapped in your skin will find their way out with ease.
2) Eat Healthy Foods:
Studies have shown that diet plays a critical role in improving skin condition. A diet with plenty of whole grains, vegetables, fresh fruits and healthy oils can lessen oxidative stress in the skin, and thus reduce wrinkles and lines. Simply drink a full glass of fresh juice everyday, and you will be surprised to see the difference on your skin.
3) Avoid Excessive Sun Exposure:
Excessive exposure to UV rays is the main cause of wrinkling and other skin problems, so make sure to apply sunblock and wear a hat whenever you need to go out in the sun.
4) Keep Skin Hydrated:
Women with drier skin usually have a more flaky and rough skin texture, while women with oilier skins have fewer wrinkles. Believe it or not, you do need oil on your skin, which is your body’s natural way of moisturizing the skin. Applying moisturizers can effectively keep your skin in shape and reduce the formation of wrinkles, especially if you live in a dry environment or dry season.
5) Relax and Exercise:
Relaxing and exercising can stimulate the blood circulation under the skin and increase the elasticity of the skin, and thus help to reduce stiffness and wrinkles on the skin. Sleeping well, playing sports, keeping happy, listening to music and having regular facial massages are all good ways to prevent our skin from aging early. Avoid the following bad habits as much as possible: worrying or stressing too much, sitting in front of a TV, PC or game set too long, working or studying too hard, going to bed too late, etc.
As you age, you can never stay away from winkles, but if you follow the tips listed above, you may significantly delay their appearance.

My moles gone and my confidence back!
“I was so embarrassed by the moles on my arms. I would make sure that I didn’t wear short sleeved tops to work or when I went out. I found Q Esthetics and came in for a consultation with Nancy. I knew I was in safe hands and she would do her best. Since the procedure, I’m not embarrassed by my arms anymore and I have my confidence back. Thank you.
I’m glad to recommend people to Q Esthetics when they ask about my procedure. I will definitely be visiting Q Esthetics in the future for other treatments because I know I can trust them.”

My plantar wart finally gone!
“Around April 2006, I had a large plantar wart on my left foot. When it was starting to get really painful, I decided to see a doctor. During the past two years, I had seen family doctors, dermatologists and foot specialists. They froze, lasered, and put acid and all kinds of medication on it, but nothing worked for me. After spending thousands of dollars, the wart just got worse and worse –finally I had to give up my job due to the extreme pain caused by standing and walking. I walked with a limp… till one day I came to the MCI walk-in clinic, and saw Q Esthetics’s poster for Wart Treatment. I booked an appointment with Nancy. She explained to me why the previous solutions could fail and how she would effectively remove the plantar wart for me using electrocautery. I was very impressed with her proposed solution, and the treatments assured me that I made the right decision. After two treatments in about 4 weeks, my plantar wart had been removed completely and hasn’t returned since.
Thank you so much Nancy for your brilliant work. I recommended one of my friends to Nancy and I would like to recommend Nancy to all the people who are suffering from stubborn warts.”

Fraxel and Fractional Laser Skin Resurfacing
If you are interested in skin resurfacing, you may have heard a lot about fraxel and fractional resurfacing. To better understand the significance of these new advances, some technical knowledge of laser skin treatment and technology is helpful.
Over the past few years the concept of Fractional skin rejuvenation or fractional laser skin resurfacing has evolved. With fractional skin resurfacing, an erbium laser beam is broken up, or fractionated, into many micro beams which are separated. So when they strike the skin surface, the small regions of the skin between the beams are not hit by the laser light and left intact. In the small zones (see figure below) treated by the fractional micro beams, sufficient laser injury promotes new collagen production to replace collagen damaged by aging or sun exposure. Damage to collagen in the skin is a cause of skin wrinkles. The new collagen produced by the laser stimulation “plumps” skin wrinkles. The intact skin between the micro treatment zones allows for much more rapid healing (3-4 days) as opposed to 2-3 weeks for the older CO2, and enough pigment cells are left intact that hypo pigmentation does not occur.

The diagram above shows the progression of laser skin rejuvenation technology from the older CO2 on the left to the newest fractional ablative lasers which have just come out. The Fraxel laser and the Lux 1540 are depicted in the 3rd illustration under Non ablative fractional laser resurfacing.
Fractional Non Ablative Laser Resurfacing
To ablate means to “surgically remove”. The Fraxel and Lux1540 are non ablative lasers which mean that when the laser beam strikes the skin the skin is not removed immediately, rather the laser beam heats the skin to cause inflammation and new collagen production. The benefits of the Fraxel and Lux 1540 non ablative laser skin treatments are dramatically reduced recovery time, but the results in terms of wrinkle removal and skin tightening are less dramatic than with ablative lasers.
However, the new fractional lasers like Fraxel and the Lux 1540 are able to penetrate much deeper than traditional non fractional ablative lasers and we are discovering that deeper penetration of the laser produces a much more dramatic stimulation of new collagen formation which translates into a plumping effect on the skin. This is particularly useful in treating depressed acne scars. Another diagram which helps explain this is the diagrammatic representation of the Lux 1540 below.
In summary, the benefits of fractional non ablative laser skin treatments are:
- Less down time- only pink skin for 1-2 days and a day or so of bronzing that can be covered with make-up
- Better new collagen production in the deeper skin layers causing skin plumping especially of acne scars
- Fewer complications like hyper pigmentation (although with Fraxel there is a 15% incidence of hyper pigmentation (darkening of treated areas) especially in dark skinned people, but it is temporary.
- Improvement in skin texture and possibly enlarged pores
- Improvement in wrinkles
The field of laser skin rejuvenation is developing rapidly and new tech breakthroughs occur frequently. The benefit to you is that better wrinkle removal results are achieved with less down time and fewer potential side effects. The applications of fractional laser are expanding to other fields like skin tightening and eventually to fat and cellulite removal.

Cosmetic injection made me 10 years younger
“I was referred to Dr. Housefather at Q Esthetics by a friend. I had wrinkle injections twice and when I looked at my before-and-after pictures I couldn’t believe how much younger I looked. Dr. Housefather is a great physician. He’s patient, caring, and most of all very gentle. Dr.Housefather has a very calming effect on people and puts your mind at ease. Thank you, Dr. Housefather!”

No more covering my acne scar
“I work in the cosmetic industry and have always been aware that my appearance adds credibility when dealing with clients. I applied make-up to look my best, but I still felt and looked tired and uneasy- I was always self-conscious about my acne scars especially when working so closely with the customers.
About one year ago, some of my clients were talking about the amazing results of fractional laser resurfacing on acne scars. I was a little skeptical at first that substantial improvement could occur. I did research and booked an appointment with Nancy at Q Esthetics, and had three treatments afterward. I was so thrilled that my acne scarring was significantly improved and the surface of my face was a lot smoother.
I would strongly recommend Q Esthetics to anyone with acne scars.”

Sun damaged skin treatment
“I’m a firm believer in non-ablative treatments, so I was intrigued by the concepts of IPL when I came across it about two months ago. At first, I enthusiastically perused all available information about IPL both on the internet and at some laser clinics. Unfortunately this left me somewhat confused and, in the case of the actual consultations, disillusioned.
Finally I found Nazila at the Q Esthetics Laser Clinic. Nazila was great; she explained the procedure to me and answered all my questions to my full satisfaction. I decided on the full set of IPL Photorejuvenation treatments. I was 55 years old and had sun damage and all other symptoms of collagen loss and skin laxity. Imagine my surprise after the first treatment that my age spots and sun damage pigmentation reduced enormously and my skin looked brighter and clearer than it had for many years. Immediately, my skin became firmer. Now after my third treatment (out of a package of six) my skin feels so much firmer, elasticated and even in texture. Last week I was mistaken for being 42 years old, which is 13 years younger than I actually am. I’m absolutely ecstatic…. What will happen when I finish my package of treatments?
Nazila is amazing, very professional, very reassuring and extremely conscientious while managing to make you feel relaxed at the sametime. I would recommend her and Q Esthetics to anyone.”

My cellulite finally gone
After I had my daughter a few years ago, I got a lot of cellulite and stretch marks. I tried dieting and exercising and lost some weight, but unfortunately, I was not able to get the results I had expected.
Basically, I was not going to look for any painful and expensive surgical or invasive methods, so I searched for other options on the internet. I found Velashape and Lumicell Touch. They are similar technologies, but I finally decided to try Lumicell because I believed its light system would be more effective in helping to target and reduce the cellulite.
Then I narrowed it down to two clinics. I was so lucky to have chosen Q Esthetics as one of them. The technician at the first clinic was nice and promised me fabulous results. I had a trial treatment there and left the clinic with uncertainty.
Then I booked a consultation with Nancy at Q Esthetics. She explained everything clearly and was encouraging. Though she didn’t promise me magic, I left her office with a much better understanding of how Lumicell works and what my part in the process would be. My time with Nancy made me sure I had found the right technique and the right technician.
I started my treatments with her and followed her guidelines as far as lowering my sodium intake. My results are amazing. This summer I will be wearing a bathing suit and feeling good about it for the first time in years. I am convinced that my great results are due to Nancy’s positive attitude and support, as much as her technical expertise. Q Esthetics has changed my life!

QELC acne treatment experience
“I am writing to say how happy I am with the acne treatment I’ve received from Q Esthetics. Thanks to Nancy’s expertise and skills with advanced techniques, my skin improved in a very short period of time.
I was in my early 20’s when I first noticed my acne problems. The breakouts were relatively mild in the beginning, but the problem gradually got worse and worse. I tried many things (antibiotics and herbal pills for acne) – none of these worked for me. It was so frustrating.
My good fortune started with my friend Lisa telling me that her cousin had his acne cleared at Q Esthetics Laser Clinic. After I went to see Nancy, I felt the difference. My skin started to clear up very rapidly and has continued to improve throughout the course of treatment. All of the inflamed acne on my chin cleared up within the first few weeks.Previously, I also had problems with clogged pores and breakouts on my forehead – all of that cleared up within the first couple of weeks and it has stayed clear. I’m very pleased with the progress I have seen in such a short period of time. QELC is the best!”
