What Is Cellulite
Cellulite, also known as adiposis edematosa (dermatology) is commonly known to many of us as “orange peel” or “cottage cheese” skin, because of its lumpy and dimpled appearance. It is a very common skin condition that occurs in mostly post-pubertal women, due to an imbalance between the formation and elimination of fat in the body. It usually appears first in the thigh and buttock areas and can be found on lower legs and backs of the arms as well. Cellulite treatment is one of the most commonly performed procedures at Q Esthetics Laser Clinic.
Causes of Cellulite
There are multiple theories regarding the cause of cellulite. Some of the most common beliefs are that its formation may be influenced by factors such as heredity, physical activity, nutrition, stress, and lifestyle. The presence of cellulite on the body is largely influenced by the amount of body fat a person has and the nature of their supporting fibrous septae. Women tend to have more body fat (27%) than men (15%) of proportional body fitness. Much of gender specific fat deposition is based upon the hormonal receptor site density, and sensitivity in various body areas.
Unfortunately no amount of eating well and regular exercise can prevent the development of cellulite in those who are predisposed to it. The collections of fat deposits are positioned in various layers of tissue, and the thick adipose fat is not responsive to regular fat-burning activity. You may have cellulite if you have noticed an “orange peel” or “Dimpling” appearance on your legs, if you have impaired circulation, spider veins and bruising, localized fat deposits, heavy legs, and skin contour irregularities such as rippling.
Tired of unsuccessfully cellulite treatments?
Are you tired of unsuccessfully trying every product or treatment available to get rid of your cellulite dimples? Topical creams may nourish your skin, but they cannot penetrate deep to the level of fat deposits and cause change in your cellulite. Q Esthetics Laser Clinic is proud to introduce a revolutionary technology in non-surgical cellulite treatment with Silhouet-Tone’s Lumicell Wave 6, which was recently named Best Equipment for the Body for 2012. The highly reputed Les Nouvelles Esthétiques bestowed this title, a trade magazine intended for beauty care professionals.
This device utilizes powerful technologies that penetrate all layers affected by cellulite.
How does Lumicell cellulite treatment works?
Cellulite, by its very nature, varies in depth. The Lumicell Wave 6 is a remarkably effective, non-invasive system, specifically designed for cellulite treatment and body contouring, which is able to treat the different stages of cellulite by delivering heat in various depths of the skin. In order to achieve optimal results, it combines carefully selected mechanical, thermal and optical energies during the same treatment:
Infrared photo -pneumatic massage using 900 nm
Ultrasound using a 1 MHz frequency
Bi-polar radio frequency at 450KHz
Infrared photo-pneumatic massage
The Lumicell Wave 6 offers Infrared photo-pneumatic massage using 900 nm, Ultrasound using a 1 MHz frequency, and Bi-polar radio frequency at 450KHz.
The Photo-Pneumatic massage helps to improve circulation and loosen the bands of connective tissue surrounding fat deposits, which cause indents in the skin. The Infrared energy increases the temperature of the skin from within, rendering it more malleable and receptive to the rolling action of the treatment head; stretching the fibrous bands without injury. The Ultrasound further disperses heat into the fatty layers, increasing the adipocytes membrane permeability, leading to the liberation of stored fat (lypolitic effect). It also increases blood and lymphatic circulation, ultimately reducing the circumference and volume of fat deposits. Upon completion of the cellulite treatment, bi-polar Radio Frequency is used to increase collagen production and restore tissue elasticity, further disabling the cellulite process. These three energy sources are used consecutively to accelerate and achieve longer lasting results.
Liquefying the Stored Fat
The Ultrasound component is designed to reach the deeper fatty layers, reducing localized fat deposits, by liquefying the stored fat and preventing additional fat from accumulating.
The Bipolar Radiofrequency is used to boost collagen production, tighten and visibly improve the skin’s appearance. The treatment will firm the skin by tightening existing collagen fibers and stimulating their production.
Meso-esthetic (optional) – The Lumicell Wave 6 has an optional “Needle-Free” Meso-esthetic treatment component. The transdermal delivery of Mesotherapy products that are rich in fat burning ingredients can further encourage the break-up of adipose fat tissue.
What can I expect during and after cellulite treatment?
How long does the cellulite treatment take?
The Lumicell Wave 6 allows for fairly quick, non-invasive treatments that last between 30-45 minutes per session. Depending on the severity and depth of your cellulite, and the amount of tissue area that is affected, treatment times may vary.
When can I expect to see visible reduction of cellulite?
The degree of correction needed will be a helpful guide to determining how many treatments you require. Though improvements can be seen after the initial sessions, the process of restructuring deep cellulite deposits, improving circulation and lymphatic drainage and boosting collagen will improve much more dramatically with regularly scheduled sessions. The cumulative effect of this treatment is a visible transformation for tissue affected by cellulite.
