Toronto Laser Hair Removal
Laser Hair Removal is safe, effective, and the most commonly performed treatment at Q Esthetics Laser Clinic, providing optimal results in the removal of unwanted hair for men and women.
If you're tired of shaving or waxing only to have hair grow back again and again, you're not alone - everyone wants to get rid of unwanted hair permanently. With the Palomar Starlux 500 System, which has the highest power of any laser and pulsed light platform in the world, we can offer the most effective Laser Hair Removal procedure on the market today.
Palomar pioneered the use of lasers for hair removal and is the first company to obtain FDA claim for Permanent Hair Reduction. We are one of the earliest users of this new technology in the Greater Toronto Area, so we have the greatest number of satisfied patients in the Toronto laser hair removal industry.
The Advantages of Laser Hair Removal with Palomar StarLux 500:
The Palomar StarLux System has been proven in clinical studies to perform as well or better than the single procedure "gold standard" lasers in permanent hair removal. Its handpieces now perform with increased speed, due to their large spot sizes, and superior efficacy, with patented Photon Recycling and Advanced Contact Cooling technologies. Different spot sizes and concentrations of power can efficiently treat large areas like the back and legs, as well as smaller areas such as the chin, neck, face, underarms and bikini lines.
The light energy delivered by these handpieces targets only hair follicle pigments, so it's safe for virtually all skin types and hair colors. Specific wavelengths of light can effectively target both finer and coarser hair as well as lighter hair, on all skin types.
Its Lux1064+ Nd:YAG laser handpiece is the perfect choice for tanned and very dark skin, including skin types V & VI.

Starlux Laser Hair Removal Procedure F.A.Q:
How does the Starlux 500 system work?
The system performs the hair removal treatment by emitting laser light or pulsed light into the hair follicles. The light is absorbed by the pigment in the base of follicles and converted to heat. The heat then loosens the hair and permanently disables the follicular cells responsible for growing new hair. The minute blood vessels to the hair follicles are also destroyed.
Is laser hair removal safe?
This system is the safest, most effective hair removal system available. Plus, all laser hair removal technicians at Q Esthetics Laser Clinic are highly trained in the operation of this system. Most people also find the Starlux 500 to be significantly more comfortable.
What types of hair and skin can be treated?
Both finer and coarser hair as well as lighter hair on all skin types can be treated with great results.
How long does the laser hair procedure take?
Five minutes to one hour per session, depending on the size of the area targeted. Thanks to its advanced, new technology, the Palomar Starlux 500 works several times faster than other laser hair removal systems. Smaller areas such as the upper lip, underarms, or bikini line can be treated in about 5 minutes. A woman's legs or a man's back can be treated in only about 15 minutes at our laser hair removal clinics!
How many treatments are necessary?
Due to its increased power and effectiveness, fewer treatments are required. Some clients will benefit from only 2 to 3 treatment sessions. Usually 4 to 7 treatments are sufficient to achieve permanency because of the hair growth cycle.
What are the laser hair removal sessions like?
Quick and easy! After your initial preparation, our certified laser technician will move a wand-like hand-piece over your skin. As the hair shaft is shaven, the heat only targets the hair bulb and does not burn the skin. The laser hair removal treatment is usually less painful than waxing – most people perceive the light as a gentle "snapping" sensation. At the end of procedure, the technician will wipe away any loose hair from your skin, and you're ready to go.
What should people expect after treatment?
Most people experience some mild redness in the treated area shortly after laser hair removal treatment. This does not interfere with normal activities. Recovery is immediate or within a day, depending on the size and location of the treatment. In some cases, the redness may last longer, but will still be mild and temporary.
Do I need to prepare the area before I’m treated?
During the complimentary consultation, your medical esthetician at Q Esthetics Laser Clinic will advise you details on what to do before laser hair removal, but here are some general things to follow: avoid tanning for 4-6 weeks prior to treatment as darker skin is more difficult to treat; don’t pluck, wax or use a depilatory cream for at least 4-6 weeks before treatment (shaving is ok);don't put any skin products (make up, perfumes, moisturizers, deodorants) on prior to treatment.
Are there restrictions after laser hair removal treatment?
You can resume your normal activities immediately after the laser hair removal treatment. But for the first 24 hours, avoid the sunlight, exfoliation and tight clothing as these can irritate the treated area. Your hair should not be waxed or tweezed between treatments and for several weeks after the final treatment as this may stimulate hair growth. However, you may shave or trim the area. Makeup and self-tanning creams may also be used as desired.
