What is Xeommin?
Xeommin is a neuromodulator; which refers to injections of botulinum toxin (Xeommin, Botox, or Dysport) in the cosmetic aesthetics industry. It works by simply blocking nerve impulses to the injected muscles, reducing their movement beneath the skin to create a smooth and refreshed appearance.
Neuromodulators have become so popular in North America, due to their effectiveness and proven safety track record, that there are now millions of injections performed each year.
Treatment areas include but are not limited to; crow’s feet or wrinkles around the eyes and upper cheekbones caused by squinting or smiling, horizontal forehead lines which develop when repeatedly raising the eyebrows, glabellar lines between the eyebrows (also referred to as number 11 lines) that are caused by frowning, and the underarms (to reduce excessive sweating).

Pre-Treatment Preparation
Avoid drinking alcohol a week before your treatment.
Avoid taking any blood thinners a week before; such as, aspirin, ibuprofen, Excedrin, Motrin, ginkgo biloba, ginseng, flax oil, cod liver oil, fish oil, vitamin A, vitamin E and other essential fatty acids.
You may take Tylenol for pain.
Day of Treatment
You may have a numbing cream applied prior to treatment; although, there is usually little to no discomfort.
Our Q Esthetics injection nurse will inject Xeommin into specified areas.
Even though sometimes immediate, full results may take up to one week.
We may ask you to return for a follow-up assessment after 2 weeks, and will discuss this during your consultation.
Xeommin Post-treatment
Before leaving, we will provide you with a post-treatment care guideline. You may feel some discomfort, but this should subside quite quickly. You may apply an ice pack to help reduce and prevent any bruising.
Try to exercise treated muscles 1-2 hours after your treatment. You can shower after your treatment, but avoid strenuous activity, facials and saunas for at least 4 hours. Do not lie down for at least 4 hours post-treatment, to avoid pressure to treated areas.

Xeommin Treatment F.A.Q. & Links
Who can administer Xeommin?
A qualified doctor or nurse injector can inject Xeommin. It is best to seek well-trained injectors who know the facial anatomy well. They will be able to target and pinpoint the exact muscles and areas that need treatment, while leaving other important muscles unaffected; for a natural, beautiful look.
How do I know if Xeommin is right for me?
Although we will cover all treatment options for your skincare goals during your consultation with our Q Esthetics’ experts, if you answer ‘yes’ to most questions below, Xeommin may be right for you.
-Have you started to notice deep-set wrinkles?
-Do you have thinning or aged skin?
-Are you noticing wrinkles when you make facial expressions?
-Do you want to improve your facial symmetry?
-Do you have a strong jawline you want to shrink or soften?
-Are you embarrassed by excessive sweating?
-Do you want to reduce an overly ‘gummy’ smile?
-Do you suffer from headaches and migraines?
When will I see my results?
Even though sometimes immediate, full results may take up to one week.
How long does Xeommin last?
Xeommin usually lasts between 3-6 months. As muscle action reappears, so do lines and wrinkles, and will therefore need to be treated again.
What are the risks of Xeommin?
As there are risks with any treatment, those linked with Xeommin include: headache, pain, flu-like symptoms, and a drooping eyelid or eyebrow area. A dropping eyelid or eyebrow is minor and will resolve with time, and all clients will be assessed by our specialists prior to treatment, to see whether or not you are at risk.
Can I go back to work after my Xeommin treatment?
Yes! There is no downtime required after your Xeommin treatment. You can return to work immediately after and can even receive the treatment over your lunch break. Friends and co-workers will simply say that you look relaxed and refreshed!
