Toronto Laser Vein Treatment
Unsightly spider veins (face veins and leg veins) affect millions of people all over the world, mostly women. In the past, this problem could only be solved through painful and expensive surgery, but now the superficial face veins and deeper leg veins can be safely and effectively treated with advanced laser technologies.
At Q Esthetics Laser Clinic, we use the Palomar Lux1064+™ Laser Handpiece in conjunction with LuxG IPL Handpiece to treat unwanted facial veins and leg veins.
The LuxG handpiece emits light in two groups of the spectrum to target vascular lesions. Palomar's AccuSpectrum technology can filter out undesired light between the wavelength bands, thus avoiding unnecessary heat to the epidermis. Clinical studies have proven that the LuxG handpiece can achieve similar or even better results than the “gold standard” lasers in treating superficial veins.
For the clearance of deep veins, the Palomar Lux1064+™ Nd:YAG Laser Handpiece delivers concentrated light at a 1064nm wavelength, which is ideal for targeting a variety of deep vessels. The light pulses heat the blood within the veins. The heat of the blood affects the vessel lining and blood flow, which causes the vessel to constrict and ultimately fade from view. Skin is unaffected by the heat and also protected by the Advanced Contact Cooling™ system.
The Palomar Lux1064+™ Laser is one of the best lasers available to treat spider veins because it is able to remove veins as large as 4 mm in diameter and is able to penetrate deeper beneath the skin surface where the communicating veins reside, which causes the veins not come back again.
Frequently Asked Questions
What do laser veins treatment feel like?
A highly trained medical aesthetician or laser technician will move the handpiece over your skin, following the length of the vein while pulsing the laser on the targeted vein. You may feel a mild sensation on the skin when the hand piece is being pulsed.
Is laser vein removal safe?
The laser vein treatments are skin-safe and comfortable. Your Q Esthetics Laser Clinic consultant will go over the risks and benefits of the treatment with you during your complimentary consultation. The handpiece delivers its energy in one smooth, gentle pulse, to protect the skin from a sharp rise in temperature.
What should I expect after the spider vein treatment?
Immediately after the treatment, you may see any of these possible outcomes:
- The vessel disappears
- The vessel darkens
- The vessel shrinks
Within a few hours following the procedure, the bulging appearance of vessels or any inflammation will disappear. The surrounding skin may turn pink or be slightly swollen for up to 24 hours. The treated vessels may eventually disappear in 2 to 6 weeks. Usually 1 to 4 treatments are necessary to achieve full clearance of face veins or leg veins. Additional vein removal treatment should be scheduled 4 to 6 weeks apart.
After a laser spider vein removal procedure at Q Esthetics Laser Clinic, you are strongly advised to avoid direct exposure to sunlight and any medication containing aspirin.
